Sponsor a student

Kids with a true passion for the arts deserve a chance.

Your gift could be the hand-up that changes everything.

Join the mission

Houtz Cello Academy is rallying donors to deliver the gift of music to low-income K–12 students whose passion for the cello burns bright.

We bridge the gap between these inspired young musicians and generous supporters who share a love for music. Every donor who steps forward fuels a child's dream—and we are deeply grateful for your life-changing support!

Who is eligible to receive sponsorship?

1. Grade level K–12 (ages 5–18)

2. Household income: Must be at or below 100% of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines (2025: $15,060         for 1 person, +$5,380 per additional member) →             Full chart – HHS.gov

3. Daily access to a cello is required (own or have a rental).

4. Daily access to a phone or computer for zoom sessions is also required.

5. Access to reliable internet is required.

*Sponsorship covers private cello lessons only. Instrument, accessories, sheet music, and all other materials are not provided and must be supplied by the student.*

How do I know if the student is making progress?

Donors will receive short progress videos of the student each month to keep them up to speed.

How do I know the student is making it to sessions?

Students must follow an Attendance & Participation Policy. This strict policy keeps students accountable, and gives clear guidelines for how to keep their sponsorship.
